A few useful answers
Will every cleaned link still work?
Most ordinary links keep their destination, but this is not guaranteed. Some sites use signatures or unexpected parameter meanings. Review the removed names, keep the original, and test important links. On X post paths, all query parameters are removed by design.
Does this make me anonymous?
No. It removes matching query tokens from the URL. A destination can still collect visit data such as your IP address, cookies or logged-in account.
Why are a, s and t removed from an X post?
For a numeric /status/ post on x.com or twitter.com (including www), XClean removes the entire query string. These share parameters appear in the removed list whenever present. Other X paths use the general rules.
Are search terms and video times kept?
Outside X post URLs, parameters such as q, query, v, list, t and start are kept unless they match an explicit rule. On an X post URL, the whole query is removed; a # fragment is always preserved.
What if my URL is invalid?
Paste one complete http:// or https:// address. Remove spaces and line breaks, check the domain, and omit embedded usernames or passwords. Relative addresses and schemes such as javascript: or file: are not accepted.
Can XClean expand short links or remove all tracking?
No. It never opens links, follows redirects or decodes a nested destination. It removes only the documented query parameters. Tracking may also exist in the path, fragment, destination redirects or platform systems.
How do I use another language or copy a result?
On your first visit to the English home page, XClean uses a supported browser language. Use the language button at the top to choose another; your choice takes priority. Direct language and article URLs stay in their own language. Paste a link, review it, then choose “Copy link”. If clipboard access is unavailable, select the result and copy it manually.
